Every year on May 12th, the world comes together to celebrate International Nurses Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. At Child Help Foundation (CHF), this day holds special significance as we pause to honour the unwavering dedication, compassion, and resilience of nurses — the silent heroes who are at the very heart of our healthcare system.

Nurses are the backbone of our Good Health and Well-Being Programme, which has benefitted over 5,12,010 individuals across India. Through their tireless service, they bring life-saving healthcare and compassionate support to the doorsteps of underserved communities. Whether it is through health camps, maternal care, emergency medical support, or awareness drives, nurses play an indispensable role in delivering accessible and equitable healthcare.

In remote villages and urban slums where medical infrastructure is often limited, nurses are often the first — and sometimes the only — point of medical contact. CHF’s health initiatives are powered by a team of trained healthcare professionals, with nurses leading the charge in conducting free health check-ups and follow-up care. Their deep understanding of local languages and cultures allows them to build trust and ensure that healthcare reaches even the most hesitant patients.

Nurses provide compassionate bedside care and support to children undergoing surgeries, chronic disease treatment, or intensive care. They assist doctors during complex procedures and ensure that patients and families receive the emotional support they need during difficult times.

CHF has partnered with several hospitals, where nurses serve as a vital link between CHF’s beneficiaries and medical institutions. They track patient progress, maintain medical records, and coordinate with CHF’s project team to ensure transparency and timely intervention.

On this International Nurses Day, Child Help Foundation salutes all nurses, especially those who are part of our Good Health and Well-Being Programme. Your dedication is not only saving lives but also shaping a healthier future for India. We express our deepest gratitude to you for being the beacon of hope, care, and healing.

As we move forward, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting our nurses, improving healthcare infrastructure, and ensuring that every individual, regardless of background, receives the care they deserve.

Happy International Nurses Day!

Let’s honour our nurses — today and every day.
