Every year, October 4 marks World Animal Day, a global initiative dedicated to celebrating and protecting animals. In 2025, the theme ‘Save Animals, Save the Planet’ reminds us of the deep connection between animal welfare and the health of our planet. Healthy ecosystems depend on thriving animal populations, and safeguarding them is crucial for a sustainable future.
At Child Help Foundation (CHF), we believe that every animal deserves care, respect, and protection. Over the years, our organisation has been actively involved in initiatives that support animal welfare and create a compassionate environment for both domestic and stray animals. One of our key contributions includes animal feeding drives, where we reach out to underprivileged areas and provide food and medical assistance to stray and abandoned animals. These drives not only ensure the well-being of animals but also foster awareness among communities about responsible animal care.
Another significant initiative undertaken by CHF is the construction and reconstruction of gaushalas. Gaushalas are shelters dedicated to cows, providing them a safe and nurturing environment. Many cows rescued from harsh conditions find their second home in these shelters, where they receive proper food, medical attention, and a peaceful habitat. By strengthening these facilities, CHF ensures that vulnerable animals have a safe and dignified space to live.
World Animal Day is not just about recognising the beauty of animals; it’s also a call to action. It urges us to adopt sustainable practices, prevent cruelty, and support organisations working towards animal protection. Animals play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance—they contribute to biodiversity, agriculture, and even mental well-being. Protecting them is, in essence, protecting our planet and future generations.
CHF’s efforts go beyond immediate care; we strive to educate communities about the importance of animal welfare. Through our programs, people learn the value of compassion, the benefits of ethical treatment of animals, and how small actions—such as feeding stray animals or supporting local shelters—can have a significant impact. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps create a kinder, more sustainable world.
This World Animal Day 2025, CHF reaffirms its commitment to saving animals and saving the planet. By participating in animal welfare initiatives, supporting gaushalas, and promoting awareness, we can all contribute to a world where animals are safe, respected, and valued. Let’s celebrate animals, protect their habitats, and embrace a future where humans and animals coexist harmoniously.
Join us in our mission —whether through volunteering, donating, or spreading awareness—and make a difference in the lives of animals and the environment.
